Enter the Capital Regions first annual graphic design regional. Any design project printed, published or aired for the first time from January 2011 through February 2012 is eligible. Selected by a jury of leading design professionals, the winning entries will be featured in an exhibition during the month of April at Albany Center Gallery.

Members and non-members living within 100 miles of Albany are encouraged to submit their best graphic design work for consideration in the upcoming show.

The top designs selected will be on exhibit at Albany Center Gallery during the month of April, and all selected designers will receive a complimentary catalogue of selected work. In addition, the top three designers or firms chosen will be recognized at an Opening Reception Ceremony with Mayor Jerry Jennings and our esteemed judges, Doug Bartow of id29, Sara Tack of Smith & Jones and also Design Professor at RPI, Richard Lovrich of Proctors Theater and Alana Sparrow of The Foundry for Art Design + Culture. They will select Best in Show; recipient will receive $500.

FIRLEFANZ PUPPETS: An Art Show about puppets will feature two short live performances: “The Frog Prince” at 7 p.m. and “The Man at the Controls” at 8 p.m. Reception from 5 p.m.- 9 p.m. See you there!

We had a great opening on Saturday night for these two amazing artist. There work will be on display until Oct. 29. Stop by the gallery from noon - 5 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday.

This past weekend ACG created the “kids zone” for Pearl Palooza. Many kids took part in this great event. We had face painters, giveaways, toys for kids to play with, sidewalk chalk drawings and a mural was created. A special thanks to all the volunteers who help make such a great event possible.

This exciting show opens Sept. 20th, we are very happy to have Chatham Brewer sponsor this event. They will be here on Oct. 15th for the reception to serve some beers, please join us for this amazing exhibit and talk with the artist from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday Oct. 15.

I would like to thank all the collectors who took part in the fair. The gallery raised money to continue it’s mission to showcase local and regional artist. Thank you also goes out to the people who purchased work. I look forward to our next Collectors Fair. For photos please view “photos”
