The Albany Center Gallery is currently hosting the 14th Annual High School Regional Juried Art Exhibition, featuring the work of more than 100 high school students from over 20 different school districts within the Capital Region.

The show was juried by a panel of four leading artists and educators: Ginger Ertz, Amy Griffin, Susan Schmader, and Leigh Wen.

ACG will host an opening reception this Friday, March 1, for the Mohawk Hudson Regional Invitational, from 5-9 pm. The exhibition features sculptures and photography by artists Kris DeMarco and Sarah Haze. Don’t forget to stop by; it should be a great event! This past weekend, Albany Center Gallery featured local artists in its exhibit projectart at The Great Northeast Home Show located at the Times Union Center in downtown Albany. Over fifty local artists’ work were exclusively for sale at the show.

Among these artists, Minnerys work, “Spring Bed #4” was decided upon by jurors Elizabeth Dubben, Tony Iadicicco, and Michael Janairo as the best piece in the show. All other honorable mentions include Chris Escobar, Chris DeMarco, Jenny Hutchinson and Raymond Puffer.

Albany Center Gallery’s next projectart satellite exhibition will take place at the Time Union Center’s Great Northeast Home Show. The exhibit will be up from February 8-10 during the hours of the GNHS, and the opening is set for February 8 from 5-9 pm. Tickets for the opening cost $10 and can be purchased through Albany Center Gallery, (admission is free for participating artists) At 7 pm, we will give out the $250 Best in Show award, decided upon by jurors Elizabeth Dubben, Tony Iadicicco, and Michael Janairo. Albany Center Gallery’s Mohawk Hudson Regional Invitational will be up for viewing from February 12-March 16, with an opening reception on March 1 from 5:00-9:00 pm. The artists for the Invitational are annually selected from the previous year’s Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region exhibit. This year, artists Chris DeMarco and Sarah Haze will show sculpture and photography.

Chip Fasciana’s “Life and Death” exhibition at Albany Center Gallery has been selected by the Daily Gazette as one of the top 7 exhibits in the Capital Region. This is an excellent honor for Chip Fasciana, who was also named Albany Center Gallery’s Artist of the Year for 2012. It’s also an honor for Albany Center Gallery to be placed on a list alongside impressive institutions such as the Clark Art Institute and MASS MoCA.
