Annual Gala To Benefit Albany Center Gallery
Albany Center Gallery will host its fourth annual TOO MARVELOUS FOR WORDS benefit gala on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at downtown Albany’s historic State Room, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Once a premier function venue for Albany’s rich and famous, the ballroom in the former DeWitt Clinton Hotel at 142 State Street will swing again with modern day swells and patrons of the arts.
Building on a rich tradition of fashion and art, this year’s gala will be one of the most memorable in gallery history. A spectacular theme highlighting surreal and eclectic elements of the early century will be interwoven into the entertainment and visual tapestry of the event.
Guests will be encouraged to dress in vintage revival fashions, dance the night away and mingle with some of the most creative and distinguished people in the area. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a silent auction that has arguably established itself as the premier arts and crafts auction of the Capital District.
This year, Albany Center Gallery will honor William Harris, Esq. and Holly Katz as first time duel recipients of the Les Urbach Lifetime Achievement Award for their dedicated service to Albany Center Gallery and the local arts community. Sarah Martinez, Executive Director of Albany Center Gallery states, “We are excited to have Corey Aldrich as our Honorary Committee Chairman this year, a supporter of the Gallery and member of the Steering Committee for the past three years. Too Marvelous For Words is going to be the bee’s knees with smooth vintage revival fashions and an auction that’s the cat’s meow.”
