In partnership with AAPI Heritage Month 518, Albany Center Gallery (ACG) presents threads, a celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. The exhibition runs from April 30 to June 1, 2024. An Artists’ Reception will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 5 - 8 p.m. threads is free and open to the public; Tuesday - Saturday, Noon - 5 p.m.

AAPI Heritage Month 518 is a new initiative organized by a local, grassroots group of Asian Americans dedicated to fostering community, belonging, and mattering. The exhibition directs our attention to emerging and established, local AAPI artists and examines the various creative styles that each artist delves into. threads challenges the notion of definition and focuses on the perspectives of AAPI artists and the inherent connection of heritage shared among people. 

 

This exhibit features the work of 28 regional artists: Riiisa Boogie, Seung Hyun Choi-Kwok, Ally Dheeradhada, Michelle Fan, Rachel Gee, Ottavia Huang, Mincho Ko, Andrew Kwok, Anping Liu, LO Pador Luce, Bibiana Huang Matheis, Spring Nguyen, Yangyang Rawden, Mitsu & Ren (CallingFeather), Ken Rutsky, Jae Schalekamp, Jacob Otto Shen & Yu Shen, RUBY SILVIOUS, Simi Sinha, Junnong Tang, Kim Tateo, Ed Ticson, Yeachin Tsai, Katie Urban, Hanae Utamura, Leigh Wen, Xiaoping Xu, and Katherine Zhang.
