Jeri Eisenberg is a photo-based artist working with non-traditional techniques.
Her current series, “A Sojourn in Seasons”, is comprised of
very softly focused images of trees and foliage, digitally printed on fine
Japanese papers. The paper, often segmented into diptychs or triptychs,
is infused with beeswax, giving it an organic translucence. The work is
hung from clear plexiglass bars with magnets, allowing the panels to hang
free, fluttering gently as viewers enter a space. Formally an attorney,
Ms. Eisenberg recently completed her Masters of Fine Arts degree at the
Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, and has exhibited widely over
the past ten years. Most recently she has exhibited at Benham Gallery in
Seattle, Galerie BMG in Woodstock, New York, and John Cleary Gallery in
Houston, Texas. Ms. Eisenberg is represented by Jayne Baum in New York City,
Lanoue Fine Art in Boston, and Chiaroscuro Contemporary in Sante Fe, as
well as locally by Gallerie BMG and Carrie Haddad Gallery. Ms. Eisenberg
has been the recipient of Individual Artist Grants through the Arts Center
of the Capital Region and the New York Council on the Arts, numerous Special
Opportunity Stipends, and artist residency awards, including the Atlantic
Center for the Arts. Her work is held in Woodstock, Banana Republic, Weill-Cornell
Medical Center, Lehigh University and the Schenectady Museum. Her work is
also included in “Encaustic: A Guide to Creating Fine Art With Wax,
a Sterling Publishing, 2009.
Mimi Czajka Graminski has exhibited in more than 100 places such as Highland
Cultural Center, Highland, NY; Time and Space Limited, Hudson, NY; Samuel
Dorsky Museum of Art, New Paltz, NY; Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard
College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY; The Albany Institute of History &
Art, Albany, NY; Katonah Art Museum, Katonah, NY; Islip Art Museum, Inslip,
NY; Exit Art, New York City, NY and Heckscher Museum of Art, Rosyln, NY
to name just a few. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Bard College
(Annandale-on-Hudson, NY) and a Bachelor of Arts from The College of St.
Rose (Albany, NY). Graminski creates large-scale installations and sculpture
out of lightweight materials, such as translucent vellum, sheer fabric and
flexible screen. These lightweight materials define shape, space and volume.
Environmental forces such as gravity, invisible air, light and shadow act
on the physical media and are integral to its form. In creating large works
with delicate materials, Graminski juxtaposes fragility and strength of
presence. Her inspiration comes from nature, from the female form and from
her subconscious creating atmospheric, playful and ethereal environments.
Iona Park lives and works in Saratoga Springs, NY, where she also teaches
painting and drawing in the Department of Studio Art at Skidmore College.
Her work has been exhibited nationally and regionally and is included in
several private collections internationally. Most recently, she has exhibited
her work at the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center, Auburn, NY; The Lake George
Arts Project, Lake George, NY; Riverfront Galleries, Schuylerville, NY;
and The Albany Institute of History & Art. She earned her Masters of
Fine Arts in painting from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1997 and an
undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in 1992. Park is engaged in
the innovative use of both traditional and non-traditional materials in
her work and she is influenced by the meditative mark-making of the Song
Dynasty Chinese landscape paintings.
Special thank you to The New York State Council on the Arts, a State Agency
for partially funding this exhibit.
