Albany Center Gallery will be having its 5th Annual
Members Show next month!
Your membership entitles you to submit one ready to hang artwork
for the Members Show taking place December 4, 2009 through
January 9, 2010. All artworks within reason of size (we
need to fit about 100 works in our modest space), created after
2005 and in ready to hang condition are eligible. Your membership
is crucial to the success of the gallery and significantly helps
sustain our mission and expand our programs.
This year, the juror of awards will be Tammis K. Groft,
Deputy Director for Collections & Exhibitions at The Albany
Institute of History & Art. Groft will select Best in Show and
three honorable mentions. A cash prize in the amount of $250
will be awarded to the artist who creates the Best in Show. A gift
certificate to Arlene’s Artist Materials will be presented to all
honorable mentions. The Opening Reception will be held on Friday,
December 4 between 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in conjunction with 1st
Friday and the Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, December
18 from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. The gallery will be closed December 24 through
31.
It would be greatly appreciated if you would bring your favorite
dish or favorite bottle of wine to the opening reception since the
reception is traditionally a potluck.

1 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please know the
gallery will be unable to mail artwork back to you, so please pick
up your work on Monday or Tuesday on January 11 or 12 between the
hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please call the office to make alternate
arrangements if this time does not work with your schedule.
